We want to see your garden!

I’m looking for KIDS WHO GROW FOOD to share their gardens with all of us. If you are a beginner or an expert, a home gardener or a school gardener, a composter or a worm farmer, a bee keeper or a bug hotel manager ... from anywhere in the world ... I need you to join my kid grower revolution! Kids who grow food might just save the world ... or feed the world ... or at least feed the neighbourhood!

the play it safe project

All across Australia, kids are heading back to LIVE learning and fun … the world is a bit different and there’s a lot to remember! The kids of Australia are learning how to stay apart and stay healthy! They are learning how to stay COVID safe. As a way to help a little with this transition, dirtgirl is launching her PLAY IT SAFE project. This is a fun lovin’ project … bringing joy to the serious science messaging of how we protect ourselves in a changed world.

It starts with funky reminder wristbands with simple messages – PLAY IT SAFE and WASH YOUR HANDS. Good reminders for everyone, and peace of mind for parents. Beyond the wristbands, PLAY IT SAFE is a brains trust of ideas and games to make sure we are having fun while staying apart to stay healthy and happy!

dirtgirl wants to take the nag out of the equation and let kids remind themselves when they reach to eat or play or practice or hug that just for now, there’s a new way of hanging out together … apart!

Childhood is a time for making friends, for exploring and being curious in the world; for making connections and being connected.

During COVID-19, childhood has been interrupted!

We have asked our children to keep their distance from others… to stay separate – to stay safe.
We asked them to stay home with their families and to learn and play distanced from their teachers and classmates.
We asked them to stay apart from their grandparents. We ask them to wash their hands … a lot!

In a bold move, dirtgirl is using her rear vision to move forward. She’s bringing back silicone message wristbands and adding the festival vibe to everyday life! Made in super safe silicone, they won’t easily snap or fade when wet. dirtgirl loves stuff that lasts!

They come in two clear and simple messages and colours. The red wristbands read PLAY IT SAFE. The yellow wristbands read WASH YOUR HANDS. Available in 3 sizes (toddler, kid and adult), the whole family can jump on board the wristband-wagon because we all need reminding to Play it Safe.

dirtgirl is looking for partners to join her to share the reminder wristbands and the Play it Safe messaging with the families of Australia. You can stand shoulder to shoulder with her in this endeavour.

dirtgirl’s play it safe reminder wristbands are an easy and fun way to help the kids remember to wash their hands and keep their distance when playing and interacting with others.

It’s not forever, but it is for now!
