Spectacular line-up for dirtgirlworld NOW!

Hi greenthumbs. It’s dirtgirl here!

Have you booked your free ticket to dirtgirlworld NOW! yet?!

From 5-7pm on Saturday 27 February (Australian EST), we are throwing a free live-streamed family festival and you can join in from anywhere in the world.

scrapboy, Costa the Garden Gnome and I will be streaming from a secret location…and yes, there will be bunting!!!

There will be songs from some of our favourite planet-loving musicians, cool ideas, special guests and we’ll cross live to some amazing ‘kidsperts’. And we’re going to have lots of belly-laughs too!

In the midst of the magic and mayhem is a big-hearted message...we are launching our first big project for 2021 called Declare You Care. It’s a party-anthem of the 10 things that YOU can do to have the biggest impact when it comes to growing a climate-safe future. We are taking a big jump forward together to look after our planet…and we’re doing it in festival style!

So who’s on the bill? The big hearts have stepped up to join us for NOW!

Mark Seymour, Hussy Hicks, Jeff Lang, Mother Earth and Bunny Racket will be doing their versions of some of dirtgirlworld’s biggest hits. And our friends Billy Otto, Teeny Tiny Stevies (ARIA 2020) and Formidable Vegetable will be bringing their best backyard songs to the mix.

And that’s not all greenthumbs! We have a wild collection of wise wonders popping into our backyard too, including:

Bella Burgemeister - Bella is 15 years old and is the founder of Bella’s Challenge. Bella is putting the United Nation’s sustainability goals into real-life action. Big and brave stuff! She’s tackled homelessness in Bunbury in Western Australia by creating lockers for homeless people to store their things. And she’s even won an award for it!

Plastic Free Mermaid - the Plastic Free Mermaid (otherwise known as Kate!) hasn’t used any disposable plastic for the past 10 years!! She is helping to save our oceans from turning into a soup of plastic. This mermaid rocks!

Cedar from Flow Hive - Cedar is the son, in the father and son team, who have revolutionised the beehive by popping a tap on it to let the honey flow. Well, it’s a bit more hi-tech and cool than that, but I especially love the bee tap and the fact you still get to wear those funky bee outfits.

Who else? Poppy’s Patch, Share Waste, The Grovestreet Gardener, Pete from the Seabin Project, Brenna Quinlan, Food is Free Laneway, Our Little Flower Farm, The Rogue Ginger, Shane’s Lunchbox Warriors and MORE!!!!

And, we’ll be crossing-live to some funky backyard family festivals to check out the fun that is happening across the nation.

diy backyard festival kit

When you book this twilight extravaganza, we’ll send you a FREE DIY backyard festival kit jam-packed with ideas and tips to create a festival vibe at your place!

Building your own dirtgirlworld NOW! backyard festival is as simple or as ‘full on’ as you choose.

From a rug and a couple of cushions, some homemade waste-free snacks, a refillable water bottle and a screen….to a pedal-powered PA, tent made from floral linen, supply of light-up hoola hoops and full festival regalia…think eco glitter and bunting!

Some families are setting up a COVID-19 safe mini-fest with other friends in their backyard…some are setting up in a park….we have a family in a roof-top garden…and plenty of people planning cubby house takeovers!

And if you can’t get to a backyard, your balcony or kitchen is just fine!

However and whereever you decide to join in, we can’t wait to see you there!

Bye greenthumbs!
